We went out on a boat trip to see Fungie the Dingle dolphin. Fungie didn't disappoint! Eric caught a few seconds on Fungie on film. Here it is!

Day 3 in Dublin
We ate breakfast at the hotel today. We skipped the black pudding...blech! We then got on the on-and-off bus and visited the Guiness Brewery. Eric even signed up to be an apprentice brewer while we were there :) Then we went to the jail and learned a lot about the revolution. We had a treat at Butler's chocolate. Yum! Delicious! We then went to a pub for dinner and a musical pub crawl. It was so fun to hear and see authentic Irish musicians and hear them talk about the history of Irish music. It was not 'staged' or 'touristy' at all.
We leave Dublin tomorrow morning. Eric is a bit worried about driving here. I think he'll be fine once we're out of the Dublin area.

Day 2 in Dublin
Well, we slept until noon today! Talk about jet lag! We then headed out and visited Dublin Castle, Christ Church, Dublinia, and the Temple Bar area. Christ Church was huge and amazing. We even got to tour the crypt. {play spooky music here}
Tonight we met two of my cousins Sarah and Fiona Kearns. They are in their 20's and live near Dublin and were nice enough to meet us for a pint and then dinner. They are both so wonderful! We had a good time getting to know them. Sarah remarked that my smile and facial expressions reminded her of her Auntie Bernadette (Uncle Ray's sister) and that my sister Karen reminded her of her Auntie Chris.
Eric and I decided that Belfast would have to wait until another visit. There are too many sights in Dublin that we have yet to see. Tomorrow it's up early for a traditional Irish breakfast and then off to the jail, cathedral, Guiness brewery and more.

Day 1
Wow! What a long day it's been! Our flight from Detroit to London was pretty nasty as we had two screaming toddlers right next to us so we got absolutely NO sleep on the plane. Ugh! I couldn't wait to get off that plane!
Then we left Heathrow Airport with our driver Gary. He drove us to London City Airport and he pointed out all the cool London sites. My favorite thing to see was the House of Parliment and the London Tower. The tower is where King Henry VIII kept his wife Anne Boelyn (and other people who made him mad) before he executed them. Wow! Glad I didn't live in that time period!
We then left London on a VERY bumpy flight to Dublin. We got here and checked into our hotel. It's a nice little hotel right down in the Temple Bar area. We saw the Book of Kells at Trinity College, had dinner at a little Italian restaurant, went window shopping on Grafton Street and then came back and collapsed. We are planning on getting a great night sleep so we have energy to do the On and Off Bus around Dublin tomorrow. Check back tomorrow for more updates.
